So, while exploring the website to The Royal Trap, I found this game and instantly fell in love with the artwork and the elven man. It says on the site that it is a “licensed adaptation of an original 1980s fantasy gamebook” and I just had to try that.
Around 5 min after I’ve started the game, I get an ending screen and my jaw just drops. Wait, what just happened? I lived happily ever after before the game even started? I assumed it was some sort of “death” screen as I got hurt just before but as I tried it again, the game didn’t take me long before the next ending slide. No wonder the art was so ambitious.
I suppose for such a short game, getting all the endings is the way to go. I managed to find 7 endings before I gave up, it wasn’t to much fun. It’s not really a game to recommend.
I hope it was cheap or free and not another attempt to “get rich quick”. I do like the art though, shame there wasn’t more to it!

The price is way to much for a game like this. It should have been free.

Bummer that is was short. Looked pretty. Kind of like a firework that looks like it might be super fun to watch and it is, for five seconds.

Yeah exactly.

The artwork do look really beautiful, I guess they had a set of pictures from that old gamebook and that’s why it’s a shorter game. Still a nice way to revive some old good looking artwork I would say. 🙂

Just wished they would have done more with it.
